First, perform a lamp test to check for power where you have your Surface plugged in. If the light isnt on, then that means it isnt getting power either. I hope you could figure out what is your wrong and could give me a home remedy for my laptop. Also, try updating the drivers to the latest version using HP support assistant. ![]() Under Shutdown settings make sure Turn on fast startup is enabled. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable. Click Choose what the power buttons do on the left side of the window. The screen on the other hand remains totally off. Search for and open Power options in the Start Menu. Now, since it's on charger and the charger is working fine, everytime I press the power button, you will hear the loud beeping sound. I plug the charger and the charging light is on. Then, please update your Notebook with both Windows Updates and by using the HP Support Assistant. Upon hearing the loud beeping sound, i press the power button once and the beeping disappear. After few hours, there is a loud beeping sound. It is actually in sync with the blinking of the charging light. Again, the light is blinking and the screen is trying to turn on the gets off. Then I decided to turn the laptop on without plugging the charger. The blinking of the light and turning on and off of screen keep on repeating with a few seconds interval. The charging/power light is blinking slow. Screen is trying to turn on then turns off. I tried turning the laptop on using the AC and battery. And then, if I receive a notification or the phone becomes fully charged, the screen will turn on and stay on until I manually turn it off or unplug the phone. ![]() With my replacement phone, however, when I plug it in, the screen turns on and stays on, unless I press the power button to turn the screen off. Likewise, after becoming fully charged or after receiving a notification, the screen would light up for a few seconds and then go dark again. With my old phone, when I plugged it in to charge, the screen would turn on for a few seconds then turn off. Since then, I have noticed that my replacement phone behaves differently with regard to the display while charging, and I can't figure out how to change the settings to make it like my old phone. A couple of months ago I had to get my phone replaced with a refurbished one. ![]()
